While in Edinburgh this past weekend for the annual British Group of Early American History Conference I managed to snag a piece of campaign literature from one group of Scots advocating for a “Yes” vote in the Scottish Independence referendum. On September 18, 2014 voters will consider a single question on the ballot: “Should Scotland be an independent country?” If Scots vote in the affirmative, it could mean the end of the 307-year-old union between England and Scotland.
